Fuse board upgrades

Fuse board and consumer unit upgrades in Dublin

The fuse board is the part of your electrics that protects everything else. If yours still has rewirable fuses, trips for no clear reason, or has no room for a new circuit, a modern consumer unit makes the whole house safer. We replace the board, test every circuit, and certify the work.

Questions

Fuse board upgrades: common questions.

How do I know if my fuse board needs replacing?

Signs include rewirable fuses, no test button on the board, frequent tripping, scorch marks or a board that feels warm. Send us a photo and we will give you a straight answer.

How long will the power be off?

For most homes the power is off for part of a day. We agree the day with you in advance so you can plan around it.

What is the difference between an RCD and an RCBO?

An RCD protects a group of circuits, so one fault can cut several. An RCBO protects a single circuit, so a fault only takes out the circuit it is on.

Will you find other problems when you test?

Sometimes. Testing can show up existing faults in old wiring. If it does, we explain what we found and what it needs before doing anything further.
